Peter Couchell, CCIM
Senior VP, Shareholder & Broker
After graduating from Clemson University, Peter joined NAI Earle Furman in 1997 and specialized in Sales & Leasing. Peter now serves as Senior Vice President of Furman Capital Advisors, the Investment Services Group at NAI Earle Furman. He has directly been involved in over 500 commercial real estate transactions with a total volume in excess of $350,000,000. Responsibilities include real estate acquisitions, dispositions, portfolio management and loan workouts of various property types throughout the United States. Peter offers a unique combination of real estate and finance experience that has proven beneficial to Furman Capital’s clients. His financial experience adds value by analyzing and structuring transactions to best meet the client’s financial objectives. He provides clients with a full range of financial services including comprehensive financial modeling, due diligence analysis, real estate valuations, loan sourcing and more. In 2005, Peter achieved the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation. Peter has been a partner with NAI Earle Furman since 2006 and currently serves on NAI Earle Furman’s Executive Committee.
Prior to becoming a commercial broker, Rob attended Hawaii Pacific University where he earned a BSBA in International Business, and upon graduation was recruited by Hilton Worldwide to join the Leader in Training program which evolved into a management position at the Waldorf Astoria’s Grand Wailea Resort on Maui. Upon moving to Greenville, Rob joined NAI Earle Furman with a focus on office and retail leasing and quickly transitioned to the company’s Investment Services Group, Furman Capital Advisors, to focus on retail and office investment sales.
Since joining Furman Capital Advisors, Rob has been directly involved in over $100,000,000 in transactions with efforts concentrated on the acquisition and disposition of single-tenant and multi-tenant retail in the Southeastern United States. Rob’s core competencies include contract negotiation, lease analysis, financial management and underwriting, due diligence organization and investigation, cost control, and disposition forecasting.
Rob is Argus Enterprise Certified, a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and expected to complete his CCIM designation by 2016. Rob is passionate about community and is actively involved with Mentor Upstate.
After 17 years of experience in various areas of real estate, Edward joined Furman Capital Advisors in January of 2016 as a broker in the company’s Investment Real Estate Division.
Previously, Edward worked as a global outsource broker for US Bank’s retail portfolio of nearly 2,000 properties. He also has completed more than 350 new home construction transactions, representing custom, quasi-custom, merchant and production builders, and worked general commercial and residential real estate.

Prior to joining NAI Earle Furman in 1998, Jimmy worked with Edens & Avant in its Commercial Brokerage Division and with Montague Industries as a sales representative. Jimmy joined NAI Earle Furman with expertise in the retail marketplace and continues to focus on the retail sector and investment properties. Jimmy works closely with companies such as Wendy’s on site selection and disposition and developers on grocery-anchored shopping centers. He has also been involved with pre-development for retail centers, including McBee Station in Greenville. He has assisted numerous clients in applying and receiving new market tax credits. Jimmy and his colleagues at Furman Capital Advisors, NAI Earle Furman’s Investment Services Group, have excellent tenant relationships with retailers including BI-LO, Urban Nirvana, Jimmy John’s and Publix. Since 2006, Jimmy has completed over $42,000,000 of retail shopping center sales in the Upstate.
Tyler joined the Furman Capital division of NAI Earle Furman in March of 2017. He works with Peter Couchell and Rob Schmidt focusing on investment sales consisting of single tenant retail (small and big box), multi-tenant retail, grocery-anchored retail, office, and flex properties. Previous to joining NAI Earle Furman, Tyler worked as an advertising sales account executive for four years in Louisville, KY and Nashville, TN working with residential and commercial realtors, brokers, and builders to come up with advertising and marketing solutions. Upon moving to Greenville, he began working at NAI Earle Furman in the investment sector.
Kelly joined the Furman Capital Advisors team in 2001. Her background encompasses extensive professional business experience in the following key positions of responsibility: Staff Associate, Customer Service Representative and Administrative Assistant/Specialist.
Katherine is a Marketing and Research Specialist for NAI Earle Furman. In addition to working with brokers and property managers on marketing specific properties and/or services, Katherine also oversees the firm’s advertising design and placement, market research, and public relations; she also assists with the website and social media management. Katherine joined NAI Earle Furman after several years of work in the non-profit sector. She brings over 15 years of experience in marketing.
